Van Gogh Museum attracts more visitors
may not anymore be the largest art institution in terms of number of visitors, but the Van Gogh Museum
will probably attract more visitors next year.
According to The Volkskrant in 2014 the Rijksmuseum attracted a record number of visitors: 2,474,352 people saw when the Night Watch. In the same year Van Gogh received, just over 1.6 million people. In 2016 that difference became much smaller. Where the ‘Rijks’ had approximately 2.2 million visitors, Van Gogh is also targets 2.2 million, which is a record.
Growing tourist numbers in Amsterdam
According to Adriaan Dönszelmann, business director of the Van Gogh, the museum attract more visitors because of the growing tourist numbers in Amsterdam.
