Dutch Design in the Keukenhof
Mondrian and Rietveld
In 2016 the Keukenhof attracted 1.1 million visitors. The visitors gave the park an 8.9 as a result. That is a result the park can be satisfied and proud of. 2016 is the third consecutive year the Keukenhof attracted over one million visitors. The beautiful, cool spring led to 8 weeks of full bloom.
The increasing number of visitors to the Keukenhof is partly the result of more younger visitors. Where you would think young tourists would prefer spending their time in a coffeeshop or in the red light district in Amsterdam, they experience the Keukenhof more and more like a trendy park for a fun day out. Visitors came from more than a 100 countries. Mostly from China and Southeast Asia. The amount of visitors from France and the US increased. These numbers prove that a trip to the Netherlands is not just a visit to Amsterdam, with its coffeeshops and the red light district. Tourists increasingly want to spend their time visiting qualitative sites, like the Keukenhof and windmill village the Zaanse Schans. Day tours to these beautiful cultural sights increase in popularity.
